When our family comes together to celebrate Memorial Day or Independence Day, I think it’s important to think about the reason we are celebrating. One way to do that is to serve patriotic colored treats to the kids and talk about the reasons we’re thankful for the freedoms we have in the U.S.
My kids love special treats and making them out of just fruit makes me feel good about giving them.
So, for the kids eating pleasure, here are 3 simple fruit treats:
Slice strawberries. Place a mixture of berries into popsicle molds. Pour filtered water into molds and put the top or stick into the mold. Place in freezer and leave until frozen through. Serve.
Stick fruit onto wooden skewers in a pattern to make the U.S. flag
1 cup heavy whipping cream
3 tablespoons maple syrup
Place cut strawberries in wine glasses, or preferred serving dish. Whip heavy cream until peaks form. Drizzle in maple syrup and mix until combined.
Spoon whipped cream over strawberries. Top with blueberries. Serve now, or chill until ready to serve.
