Hot Buttered Coffee

Coffee.

Yum.

Butter.

Oh yes.

Together?

Wedded bliss.

So… I’m a coffee snob. 

Coffee should be amazing, not just an avenue to get caffeine.

Being in the middle of Montana definitely has it’s downfalls and there really isn’t much for options when trying to purchase local food.

But we do have some amazing coffee.

I’ve known Gary, from Revel Coffee Roasters for years now, and am ever impressed with his meticulous care in his coffee roasting and the excellent quality.

I also appreciate his desire to treat the farmers well, he purchases his beans so that for the most part, the money is contracted directly to the farmer.
Most of the coffee he has, especially the micro lot coffee, is organically grown, though not certified, through small farms.

Compared to most roasters, Gary roasts lightly. He does so to preserve the origin character of the coffee, his goal is that the quality will be tasted.

My current favorite is the Honduras Microlot Julio Cesar Aguilar.

And on butter…

We follow a traditional diet (Nourishing Traditions) and gladly consume grass fed butter. And no, grass fed butter is not bad for your cholesterol levels- it improves them!

Healthy fats give a wonderful amount of energy and it’s a perfect way to start your day.

Trust me on this- you will enjoy how you feel.

Hot buttered coffee is smooth and velvety. The butter brings out the brightness of the coffee and quite frankly, it’s delicious.


Hot Buttered Coffee

Ingredients:
3 cups freshly made coffee
1/2 cup grass fed butter
1/4 cup organic maple syrup (optional)

Directions:
Blend all together in blender until frothy. Serve.

Serves 2-4 people, depending on the size of your mugs.

    OMG… amazing. I was using a couple sneaky tsps of coconut palm sugar, maple syrup makes me feel less guilty! Thanks 🙂

    I’m going to try this! I put coconut oil in my coffee and love it! Your recipe will take it to another level! Can’t wait to go to bed so I can wake up to butter coffee!

    Do you know if the coffees they ( Revel Coffee Roasters) get are irradiated?

      I don’t. I doubt it, being from small independent farmers, but feel free to ask Revel, they are very helpful and happy to answer any questions.
