Strawberry Santas

Holidays are fun and part of the fun, especially for little ones, are the cute treats we share. Often, after moving to a real food lifestyle, the holiday treats that we used to share are no longer appealing. But we can still share treats, and they can be fun and cute and healthy!

These little Strawberry Santas are perfect for your next holiday gathering and will bring a smile to faces around you. And they are absolutely delicious.

Strawberry Santas
Ingredients:
1 pint Strawberries
Whipped Cream (recipe below)
Chia or Sesame seeds

Directions:
Wash and dry strawberries. Slice off the green (this will be the bottom of the santas). Cut the strawberries 3/4 of the way up. Place whipped cream in pastry bag or ziplock, cutting a corner to be able to pipe the whipped cream out. Pipe on the buttons, then swirl the whipped cream, place the “hat” and pipe out a fluff for the hat on top. Place seeds for eyes. This works best if your finger is slightly damp, so keep a moist washcloth near by.
Whipped Cream
Ingredients:
1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tablespoon maple syrup
Directions:
Put heavy cream into mixing bowl, mix on high with a hand mixer or immersion blender with whisk attachment, until it begins to get stiff and peaks form when beaters are lifted. Mix in maple syrup.
