Coffee Ice Cream

I made a difficult decision, as a minimalist, last week,  I purchased another small appliance:
An Ice Cream Maker

We thought about it for several months before buying it. But the benefits out way the clutter.
The whole family was missing our typical summer trips to the local ice cream shop during the hot summer months… but no longer! Now we can have wonderful ice cream without thinking about wood fibers or food coloring!

This is the most delicious coffee ice cream I have ever tasted! Go ahead, give it a whirl!

Coffee Ice Cream
Ingredients:
3 cups organic coffee
1/2 cup cream or half & half
1/2 cup maple syrup
2 egg yolks, from free range organic chickens
Directions:
Mix all ingredients thoroughly and pour into the ice cream maker. Following the manufacturer’s instructions, mix for approximately 20 minutes, or until desired consistency.

Is ice cream too cold? Have you tried Hot Buttered Coffee?

It’s on my short list of “more appliances that will clutter my kitchen but is now essential because we can no longer eat the store bought stuff”

Exactly! If only the rest of the world would just embrace real food as well- it would make it much easier to be a minimalist with my kitchen appliances!

I bought the ice cream maker! It’s fantastic and doesn’t take up nearly as much room as I would have thought. I’m experimenting, thanks for a real food recipe!
