16 years worth of parenting and we have gone through a ridiculous amount of toys.
All those wonderful educational toys… that never got played with.
We had birthday gatherings and all the family members would bring incredible new toys for the kids to enjoy.
The kid’s room began to overflow.
I was overwhelmed with trying to keep everything organized. The kids just seemed to spread them out all over the house, but never play with them.
I gritted my teeth and started donating some of them. I felt guilty giving away all these wonderful toys, but the kids didn’t care!
The more I got rid of, the more they began to play!
They developed favorite toys, that they would pick up and play with for hours each day.
We have narrowed it down to a few rules:
The kids are happier now- they aren’t overwhelmed with toys everywhere. And they use their imagination all the time! It’s wonderful!
