Clothing Challenge Month 2012
Closet overflowing?
Do you have clothes you haven’t worn in the last 6 months to a year?
Do you have skinny clothes that don’t fit?
A little black dress that doesn’t get worn?
Let’s fix that this month!
Come and join me for a clothing challenge!
Today:
Make sure all your clothes are washed and hang them backwards in your closet. (Seriously annoying thing for us OCD people- yikes!)
Hang all your clothes! Even your jeans and tank tops get hung up.
Exception: socks, underwear, bras, swimsuit.
Each time you wear something this month, wash it, hang it up again with the hanger facing the correct way.
I live in Montana and it is still very much summer here. If you have winter clothes, just set them aside for the month, we’ll do another challenge in the middle of winter.
The goal: at the end of the month you will see what you wear and what you don’t wear. We will donate the clothes that don’t get worn.
Ready to accept the challenge?
Ready to free yourself from the “There is nothing to wear dilemma”?
You heard right!
When we limit our clothing we actually feel we have more options!
I am so excited for this month! I love the feel of space between the hangers in the closet. It means they don’t get wrinkled! If the clothes are squished together in the closet it totally negates the reason they are hanging in the first place! (Which was to avoid wrinkles!)
Even though I’ve pared down my clothes regularly, I know there are things that I just don’t wear.
Come take the plunge with me!
Ready?
Go to your closet, hang your clothes, and turn those hangers around!
Let me know here in the comment section or on my facebook page if your joining the challenge!
If you are a blogger- Please post your own clothing challenge posts and get your readers involved. Feel free to use the challenge image on the top of this post!
Let’s go attack that closet!

I have already gotten rid of about 2/3 of my cloths but I love a good challenge. I still look at my closet and believe I can get rid of more. So this is a great way to really see what I am wearing and what really needs to go. Thanks for the moral support!
I know this is an old post, but I LOVE the idea! I’ll definitely try it this month!
What a fab idea! I have so many clothes they sit around mt room! Will definitely be getting rid of those that don’t fit and those haven’t worn in years!!
Thank you for the post.
Absolutely! Let me know how it goes for you! 🙂
Hi Rachel =*) this is a long shot but do youhave any clues to ‘OCD’ sites, or doctor’s names I could look up concerning OCD/clutter ? I know you don’t breach this serious disorder-I’m even seeing a psychiatrist (not ocd specialist =^/)there’s not enough research done on it =^) thank you either wayfor reading this through (I understand if you don’t reply, but I thought I could try just in case =^) I will try some of your tips, I think I might even amaze my self ,=^) TY, lezleedutton
I did write about it briefly, and listed the only resource I found: https://nourishingminimalism.com/2016/09/embracing-minimalism-instead-of-habitual-decluttering.html
I wish I had some more help I could pass on to you! Please let me know if you find more, and I will be happy to share it with others. <3
