I'll let you know right now, that I've been there. I used to wait 3 days to wash the dishes... until every dish in the house was dirty.
I had a pile of laundry in front of the washing machine waiting to be washed and I had a designated LAUNDRY COUCH that held all the clean laundry that I never could seem to get put away.
My house overwhelmed me and I HATED the fact that I had to work on it.
The problem was I was fixated on all the CHORES. I thought about them, I told myself how horrible I was because I couldn't do them right. They weighed me down like shackles keeping me in my prison of despair.
These days, I'm on the other side. I rarely even think of the household chores that get done every day.
I've learned to do them without even thinking about it.
In fact, I was able to change my habits so much, I don't even notice that I'm DOING it and when I stop to look around, it feels like the HOUSE CLEANED ITSELF.
It started with small, daily habits. Not too many- because I tried all those long lists of daily chores. I would give up!
It wasn't until I focused on the simplest, smallest habits:
- Quick kitchen tidy
- Wipe off counters & stove
- Wash the dishes
That's it. It's not complicated - I learned that for me to follow through, I had to SIMPLIFY even my habits.
After a month of being consistent, it changed my entire view of life.
And I have every confidence that you can find the same success.
